MCC is led by two pastors who also serve as an elder team, along with their wives.
A lifelong career in teaching proved beneficial preparation for Curt Deming’s calling as teaching pastor for MCC. Curt earned a master of arts in Christian leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2011 to further equip himself to lead the congregation. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in government and international studies from the University of South Carolina. Curt teaches history at Covenant Christian School in Palm Bay, where his wife, Gina, also works and coaches. The Demings have two children.
Walter H. Straub JR.
Florida native Walter H. Straub Jr. came to know Christ as a student at Auburn University, where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1987. Already an accomplished musician, he soon began using his musical talents as a worship leader. MCC ordained Walter in 2003. In addition to serving as worship pastor, Walter works as a mechanical engineer for Harris Corp. His wife, Anne, heads the Sunday school ministry at MCC and works as a middle school language arts teacher at Hoover Middle School in Indialantic. The couple has three children.
A member of MCC since 2005 and a former student of Curt’s, Jared Smith became associate pastor in 2014. He works as a landscape architect and structural steel detailer in his own firm. His wife, Sarah, operates a candy business and cares for the couple’s daughter in addition to her volunteer work at the church.
Nathan brought his organizational and leadership skills to MCC when his family joined in 2008. He chairs the Budget and Building committees and was named church administrator in 2014. Nathan works as a mechanical engineer for Harris Corp. His wife, Heather, works with MCC's children's ministry and homeschools the couple's five children.
